For 33 years, the Pierpont column, written by Trevor Sykes, has entertained and informed readers about high and low finance. The last weekly Pierpont column appeared on December 9, 2005. In future Sykes will write only one column each Christmas in which Pierpont will bestow the Dubious Distinction Awards upon those denizens of the financial world who managed to make the biggest spectacle of themselves. Readers are invited to contribute ideas for the Dubious Distinction Awards by emailing Pierpont. Readers are also invited to browse the archives on this website, which contain the columns written since 1995 for the Australian Financial Review.
